You might have mentioned the role of Australia in inducing the US/UK to regard Huawei as a threat. It is well discussed in Josh Rogin's Chaos Under Heaven about Trump and China. Of course this reflected the level of political and economic interference in Australia (appointing retired pols to boards of Chinese banks for example). In the UK case this has set back 5g by about five years. You might also have looked at the impossibility of de-coupling. Modern supply 'chains' are more like spider webs, hence impossible to neatly tear apart. Take a look at Ed Conway's The Material World to get an idea of how difficult this is.
